Sighthounds around the world need your help

Every day, dogs around the world wait for families who will never come. Some languish for months or even years; others are euthanized, killed for taking up space. None are living the lives they deserve.

Fast Friends believes that every dog deserves a warm bed, good food, and loving home. We work with partners around the world to bring retired racing Greyhounds and rescued sighthounds to the US and match them with families who will care for and cherish them.

WHO WILL YOUR GIFT HELP?

- Irish and Australian Greyhounds: Simply put, there are far more dogs than local homes. So many Greyhounds retire from racing each year that rehoming groups are overwhelmed, with waiting lists of young, healthy dogs needing a place to go.

- Spanish Galgos and Podencos: Rabbit-hunting is still popular in rural areas, and Galgos and Podencos are the sighthounds of choice for this “sport.” Overbred and undervalued, any dog not successful enough is killed, often cruelly. The lucky ones are turned loose on the street or in the fields to fend for themselves.

- Portuguese Podengos: Used for hunting, Podengos are often treated roughly, with little care to their physical comfort or emotional needs. These sensitive, intelligent sighthounds are kept caged or chained, and brutally killed or dumped in the countryside when no longer considered useful.

- Chinese meat trade survivors: It was impossible to bring these dogs to the US for years during and after the global pandemic. We are in touch with our partners and working on options so we can go back to helping these deserving dogs.

- and so many, many more. All of these dogs make wonderful companions, and working together, we can give them a second chance at the life they should have had all along.

Please be part of this life-saving mission and donate today.
