You changed so many dogs’ lives in 2024; change even more in 2025!

Every dog you help bring to Fast Friends has a long, wonderful life ahead of them. We spend our time focused on that future — making travel plans for the dogs, working toward their healing in body and soul, and interviewing adopters to find that perfect match. We are always looking forward, toward how the dogs’ lives will change when they join a family and become pets for the very first time.

But sometimes we need to look backward, too, to understand where a dog came from so we can help them live their best life. In looking back over the lives that have been changed and all we’ve accomplished together in 2024, one thing stands out about all the others: You have always been there for the dogs when they needed you.

Many dogs began the exciting next chapter of their lives last year, but there were tough times, too. Libby and Zara, both retired racers, faced life-threatening medical crises. Through it all you were there, changing dogs’ lives and sharing their stories right beside us. You celebrated the adoptions and worried about the sick dogs, just like we did.

Your support not only changed dogs’ lives, it sustained and inspired us, too.

Every day, we see first-hand the difference your support makes in the lives of the dogs. Some dogs are like Sneaky and just need a little time to readjust from track life before going home. Other dogs are like Monty, who was rescued from the Chinese meat trade and spent years waiting for his chance to leave the country. Because of you, each and every one of these dogs gets the individualized care they need to live a happy life as a pet in a loving family. None of these happy endings would be possible without your support, and we see the results of your care and generosity every single day in the smiling faces and wagging tails of the dogs you’ve brought from around the world to find happy lives.

Even with all that we accomplished together in 2024, dogs still need us.

Healthy, well-adjusted Greyhounds wait in local adoption centers where there are just too many dogs leaving the track to find homes. Sighthounds in China are subjected to the cruelty of the meat trade. Dogs here at home and around the world are abandoned and forgotten.

Fast Friends has renewed our commitment to bring over retired racers every month in 2025. We will continue working with our partner in China, and plan to welcome the more meat trade survivors in spring. We also starting a new relationship with a group in Romania to help two abandoned Galgos begin their new lives.

None of these efforts would happen without you. You are heroes to these dogs, and to us.
